Gregory Thompson, 43, of Bridgeport, was first arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 3, when state police detectives assigned to the Crime Control Task Force, along with the Statewide Narcotics Task Force and the Bridgeport Police, On September 3, 2019, executed a search warrant at his home in Bridgeport, said the Connecticut State Police.
The search warrant was the result of information developed by state police that Thompson, a convicted felon, had access to a firearm. In addition, he was wanted on two active domestic- violence-related arrest warrants, state police said.
During the search, police located and seized $3,810 in cash, numerous oxycodone hydrochloride pills, two AK47- type assault rifles with loaded 30-round magazines, and a pistol with three high-capacity magazines, one of which is a 50 round drum magazine.
Thompson was transferred to the custody of Bridgeport Police for his outstanding domestic related-warrants.
On Monday, Sept. 16, Thompson, was arrested by state police on three counts of illegal possession of an assault weapon, two counts of illegal possession of high-capacity magazine, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession whin 1,500 feet of a school, and two counts of risk of injury to a child.
Thompson was unable to post the court-set $500,000 bond.
